Lernziel


Die Studierenden lernen aktuelle Theorien und zentrale Fragen der Gender Studies in den MINT-Fächern kennen. Sie entwickeln ein wissenschaftliches Verständnis für Geschlecht als Kategorie in den Sozialwissenschaften und in der Wissenschaftsforschung und lernen, grundlegende Methoden der theoretischen und empirischen Geschlechterforschung anzuwenden. Fachübergreifende Ansätze werden unterrichtet.

Students get to know current theories and central questions to Gender Studies in STEM. They develop a scientific understanding of sex gender as category in social science and science studies and learn to apply basic methods from theroretical and empirical gender studies. Interdisciplinary approaches will be taught.


Lehrinhalt


Dieses Seminar untersucht die Bedeutung von Geschlecht in Technologie und technologischen Forschungsfeldern. Ausgehend von zentralen Publikationen aus dem Fachgebiet geht es in diesem Seminar um die vergeschlechtlichte Natur von Technologie, um die Rolle von Frau und Mann in diesem Feld und um die Vorstellungen von Geschlecht, die in technologischen Disziplinen vorherrschen. Basierend auf einer Vielzahl von Beispielen aus verschiedenen technologischen Unterdisziplinen wird diskutiert werden, wie Geschlecht in technologische Geräte und in technologische Disziplinen eingeschrieben wird. Studentinnen und Studenten werden mit Wissen und Methoden der Sozialwissenschaften und Gender Studies ausgestattet, dadurch werden ihre interdisziplinären Fähigkeiten gefördert. Diese Seminar hat Einführungscharakter.

This course will investigate the relevance of gender to technology. Based on crucial publications of the field, this seminar teaches students the gendered nature of technology, the roles women and men play in this field and the ideas of gender that exist in technological research areas. Starting from a variety of examples from different technological subfields, it will be discussed how sex/gender is inscribed in technological devices and technological disciplines. This will provide students with knowledge and methodology from social sciences and gender studies and thus strengthen their interdisciplinary skills. This seminar is an introduction.
